Grant information

One of the priority areas for the Victorian Cancer Agency is building cancer research capacity and capability in Victoria through encouraging clinicians and academic researchers to undertake research projects in cancer. Victorian Cancer Agency Mid-Career Research Fellowships are intended to allow dedicated time for translational cancer research.

The objectives of the Mid-Career Research Fellowship Scheme are to:

  • Support high quality cancer research conducted by mid-career researchers who are able to demonstrate clear evidence of translational research capacity.
  • Provide funding as a means of enhancing competitiveness of mid-career researchers to enable them to leverage further funding from granting bodies or industry.

Applicants who are able to demonstrate their project would be enhanced by undertaking research at a National Cancer Institute (NCI)-designated Cancer Centre will be eligible to participate in the Victoria-USA Cancer Fellowship Exchange Program. This will provide support for up to 12 months to enable the applicant to undertake part of their Fellowship in an approved NCI-designated Cancer Centre.

Before completing this application, it is important that you read the Victorian Cancer Agency Mid-Career Research Fellowship Guidelines 2017 (PDF 441KB).

For our funding rules, including our policy on organisations that administer the funding, please see the Victorian Cancer Agency Funding Rules (PDF 265KB).
